Purpose
Purpose and History
This site is to provide a historical perspective of the perhaps errant acts of the Baxter County Airport commission in 2017, and now the current Baxter County Judge Kevin Litty.
The Baxter County Airport has a long history of controversy as well as lawsuits as the airport seemed to be run for the benefit of a few wealthy users. It is often referred to in the public realm as a “rich man’s playground”, although that has not been the case in the last few years, due to new management and a greater vision.

$50 Million Expansion Project Lost
The Airport, under the direction of an Airport Commission, was actively pursuing plans for expanding the airport with the end goal of reestablishing commercial air service to the community.
The County had purchased the property at the end of the runway to allow for its extension, the perimeter fence had been relocated to allow for the increased width, and boring and engineering studies were complete. Then only to update an environmental study.
But then some things went terribly wrong.
